Sequel to the huge success recorded by frontline filmmaker, content developer and culture activist, Amb. Dr. Lancelot Oduwa Imasuen, popularly known as the ‘Guvnor’, he has broken new grounds at the international scene as he received a letter of engagement for skills and expertise in filmmaking and entertainment from Osiri University in US.

The letter reads in part; “I am pleased to extend our formal invitation to engage your esteemed expertise in the field of filmmaking and entertainment. Your exceptional talent and wealth of experience makes you an ideal candidate to contribute to our academic community and enhance our students learning experience.

“Osiri University is renowned for its commitment to providing quality education in the arts and entertainment fields,

“We firmly believe that your involvement will greatly enrich the educational journey of our students and provide with valuable insights into the practical aspects of film making and the entertainment industry.”

 

In another development the exceptional filmmaker and director received an invitation to ‘World Bible Conference 2023’ and a nomination for an Honorary Doctorate Degree from LeadImpact University, Houston, Texas.

This is indeed a double honor for the high profile filmmaker. to say Lancelot Imasuen’s profile has steadily been on the rise is simply stating the obvious.

 

Over the years, the quintessential filmmaker has produced classical films that not only drew from the rich repertory of Benin culture, imagery, music and dance but such that stressed the need for the sustenance of our dying indigenous languages.

As a matter of fact, his epic films including 2014 “Invasion 1897” and “Adesuwa” produced in 2012, are still being held in high esteem as a reference point in most institutions of higher learning and cultural establishments across the globe.

It is not out of place therefore, that the highly celebrated filmmaker is receiving multiple international honors and recognition at this time to celebrate him and his achievements.

Following the numerous accolades he has garnered from different quarters since he made his directorial debut in Nollywood, Lancelot being celebration as an Icon is no less a testament to his true worth and greatness as a foremost film maker from the Benin race.
